Don Imus, liberal friend of Democratic bigwigs like Chris Dodd and John Kerry, is free to be as much of a bigot as he wants. Take the time a few years ago when he and sidekick Bernard McGirk were discussing the NBA and what players did in the off-season. “Day be chillin’ wid day bitches,” McGuirk responded. I heard that on the radio and was waiting for the media firestorm that never came.

Yesterday he called the Rutgers women’s basketball team “nappy headed ‘hos,” while McGuirk chimed in that watching Rutgers play Tennessee was like watching the “jigaboos versus the wannabes.” There is a bit of a flap up in the NJ media right now, but what do you bet this will die by the weekend. After all, Imus is the liberal Manhattan media darling. He can do no wrong.

If you think this is not possible, just look at this WNBC poll as it stands right now:

Funny how everyone’s a First Amendment backer when a liberal make a racist comment. Imagine if Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter had said something 1/100th as offensive. It would be front page with a siren on Drudge, the cable shows would talk endlessly about how the right is so racist, ESPN would discuss it for years afterwards, just as they mention Limbaugh every time Donovan McNabb breaks wind.  Ask John Rocker or Fuzzy Zoeller about this double standard.
