This is why you love government. The City of Hendersonville has a serious moral dilemma: Can the state get more revenue by issuing cheap licenses to establishments that want to sell beer but not spirits, than it can by requiring beer sellers to procure a full liquor license? The latter scenario is currently practiced, but some believe it is too onerous. In order to make sure the state collects the correct amount of dollars, Hendersonville City Council will not look at tea leaves. They will do what the kindergartners did to find out if the cat was a boy or a girl: Put the matter to a vote.
