Got a Save The Tax mailer today. What a crock. Not a single truthful claim.
Cut bus service? Yeah, if our local leaders are completely irresponsible. Besides, keeping the tax and and current plan also puts us on a path to cut bus service.
Traffic congestion gets worse? It will get worse regardless of what we do, especially because we refuse to add road capacity while we build trains. Trains that will have virtually no impact on congestion. Again, North line 4600 riders a day by 2030.
Air quality? How? How does building trains make air quality better? We went two straight years without ozone issues in 05-06 because of the weather without trains.
Hike property hikes? Guaranteed property tax hikes to pay for a $9 billion plan the half-cent cannot afford.
Lose millions in federal funds? That is just a damn lie.
Risk economic growth? How? By failing to address congestion while we build trains? Hmmm, trick question?
The Save The Tax Crowd is running on empty. They got nothing. Nothing except money and low morals.
