The Wall Street Journal reports here on the growing trend among college admissions officers toward checking the Facebook pages of applicants. I think it’s smart and wish every college checked Facebook as part of the entrance process. Still, some young people seem oblivious. A student quoted in the story said it’s not right to “blindside” someone by checking social media. Really?  The information people post tells you who they really are. For example, if you read my blog posts, you’ll learn that I am a free marketer who believes in individual rights, limited government, the power of capitalism to change lives, the dignity of work, taking care of the poor and vulnerable, the importance of parents, and the healing power of God. Young people must realize that their Facebook pages telegraph to the world exactly who they are – and aren’t.
