Mention the word “crime,” and most of us think about murder, robbery, rape, or assault. But North Carolina’s criminal code extends far beyond such basic, easy-to-understand crimes. Mike Schietzelt has joined the John Locke Foundation recently as criminal justice fellow. He’s devoting much of his time to a project designed to ensure that the code is as simple as possible for N.C. residents and businesses to understand. Mitch Kokai and JLF President and CEO Kory Swanson chat with Schietzelt about his work.
