Mention the word “crime,” and most of us think about murder, robbery, rape, or assault. But North Carolina’s criminal code extends far beyond such basic, easy-to-understand crimes. Mike Schietzelt has joined the John Locke Foundation recently as criminal justice fellow. He’s devoting much of his time to a project designed to ensure that the code is as simple as possible for N.C. residents and businesses to understand.
