A piece in Friday?s Charlotte Observer reports the on-again, off-again, on-again candidacy for Mecklenburg County Commission of Dan Bishop, a well-respected Republican activist and local attorney. Perhaps Dan?s fancy political footwork ? generated primarily by the sudden entrance into the race of a well-known former commissioner, and then the surprising groundwell of support for Dan in the district ? could better be explained by the fact that he and I both attended the same dance studio in Charlotte, the Grose School of Dance.
Of course, the embarrassing revelation (for Dan) that he and I used to tap dance together will probably not help his candidacy, so maybe I shouldn?t have mentioned it.
