We’ll get a good indication of President-Elect Obama’s plans for the economy, and view of the government’s role, when he formally announces his economic team today.

The announcement today then is better understood as a piece of political theatrics — aimed at sending a clear signal to the American public that Obama is on top of the economic problem and putting the pieces in place to solve it.

Theatrics or not, these appointments will have a major impact on each and every one of us.
