One other note on the recorded closed session. Remember how the disinterested observer noted how a Guilford County school board member was talking about the suffering a change in snow make-up days would inflict, as if people were going to starve or something?

Evidently Greensboro City Council members Sandra Anderson Groat and Zack Matheny expressed similar fears when negotiating Mitch Johnson’s sweetheart deal:

Both Matheny and Groat said it was important to them that Mitch Johnson be employed until July 15 so that he would not lose retirement benefits and talked about the fact that he had a family to support. To hear them talk there is no chance that Mitch Johnson will ever get another job, and if he cannot collect his full retirement from the city his children will go hungry.

I’m glad other people notice these things.
