Local newspaper columnists get scorched

There?s a pithy, funny letter in The Charlotte Observer today responding to the newspaper?s announcement that, in order to save space on its editorial pages, it will be cutting a page now devoted to book reviews and the like, a page previously devoted to syndicated columnists. The writer suggests a different type of editorial material to economize on:

Please put back the national columnists on the Viewpoint page. If you need to cut space, then you all quit writing. I already know you hate everything about America and Western culture.
