Don’t look now, but the gnomes in Raleigh are set to offer up a budget with a half-cent sales tax hike, hikes on booze and tobacco, and class warfare rape of the “rich.”
The good (sic) news? Local sales tax hikes will likely be rendered inoperable with such an approach. But Meck taxpayers can still look forward to a rare quint-whammy: state hikes on income, consumption, and sin; county property tax hikes; city fee hikes.
Maybe folks might consider choosing different “leaders” — nah.
