I’ve been monitoring just a handful of counties tonight, but I’ve been told:

  • Every land-transfer tax increase on the ballot across the state bit the dust.
  • No county that offered voters an option of a land-transfer tax hike or a sales tax hike earned voter support for either option.
  • Only sales tax increases won voter support. Six of 11 counties with only the sales-tax option on the ballot won voters’ approval for those sales tax hikes.

Take this assessment with a grain of salt, since I have not studied each county. John Hood will offer his unique expert analysis in tomorrow’s Daily Journal column.
