Triangle radio listeners heard the John Locke Foundation’s name repeatedly Wednesday in connection with the latest Headliner luncheon featuring Stephen Hayes of Fox News and The Weekly Standard. Hayes appeared with Rick and Donna Martinez on WPTF’s late-morning program Wednesday, then returned to WPTF for a full hour with Bill LuMaye in the afternoon. LuMaye’s regular weekly discussion with JLF President John Hood featured a discussion of the impact of Osama bin Laden’s death on President Obama’s re-election prospects. The Martinez team also spent time this week talking about Carolina Journal Associate Editor David Bass‘ article on efforts to nix funding for Planned Parenthood from the N.C. House budget. Executive Editor Don Carrington‘s article on sportscaster Billy Packer‘s fight with state environmental regulators prompted WBT Radio’s Tara Servatius to interview Packer. Terry Stoops, JLF Director of Education Studies, discussed the education budget during an appearance this week with Chad Adams on the WLTT Radio morning show. Mitch Kokai, Director of Communications, offered a legislative preview to WTSB Radio listeners at the beginning of the week, then provided a legislative recap at the end of the week for Curtis Wright’s program on WAAV/WFNC. Becki Gray, Vice President for Outreach, reviewed this week’s legislative action for WTSB listeners. Gray heads to Hickory Saturday to serve as featured speaker for the Caldwell County Republican Club town hall meeting.
