Here’s the first pass on a new report looking at CMS’ 10-year, $2 billion spending plan. The bottomline is that CMS’ current school-building approach guarantees large property tax increases far into the future at the same time Mecklenburg spends much more on school construction than Wake County or Guilford County does.
Mecklenburg does not have to continue down this path, of course. But it is up to local officials to want to change course.
