More comparisons to the Duke lacrosse case were drawn by Forsyth County DA Tom Keith during yesterday’s hearing for Keith Carter, accused of shooting Winston-Salem Police Officer Howard Plouff. Keith wants lawyers on both sides to keep their mouths shut:

“Before this spins out of control like the Duke case … I ask that you admonish me and admonish Mr. Rabil,” Keith said to Massey, referring to accusations of rape against lacrosse players at Duke University. Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong faces sanctions because of remarks he made about the case.

But somehow I don’t think comparing WSPD’s investigation to a television show will inspire confidence in the public:

Authorities have consistently said publicly that the investigation was professional and Keith compared the police work with the popular television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigations.
