The annoying Bill Press, who can’t even get a guest gig on cable TV anymore, says it’s not fair that Rush Limbaugh and other right-wing talkers are more popular than he and his lefty droners. He wants a federal bailout, in the form of the Fairness Doctrine:

There is no free market in talk radio today, only an exclusive, tightly held, conservative media conspiracy. The few holders of broadcast licenses have made it clear they will not, on their own, serve the general public. Maybe it’s time to bring back the Fairness Doctrine — and bring competition back to talk radio in Washington and elsewhere.

This kind of drivel, asking businessmen to hurt their businesses by offering a product no one wants, is typical lefty understanding of “free markets.” Sadly, many in Congress will see it that way.
