Carolina Journal‘s Rick Henderson pointed out today the self-serving nature of those urging increased taxes and fighting cuts in the state budget. They’re all people or groups feeding at the public trough, or those who give money to those who have traditionally filled the trough — Democrats and their supporters.

It’s the same thing in Washington. Democrats and their crony capitalists, unions and social-change groups are resisting the budget cutting that simply must be done if we’re to get the country moving toward a sane footing:

As Congress prepares to make deep spending cuts, an army of lobbyists is gearing up to fight back.

In an e-mail obtained by ABC News, a top staffer for the key Senate Appropriations subcommittee called for a meeting of lobbyists and interest groups that would be affected by expected cuts to the Labor and Heath and Human Services budget. The Jan. 24 meeting was attended by approximately 400 people, sources told ABC, and served as a “call to arms” for those determined to fight Republican budget cuts.

Note that it’s an army of lobbyists. You could say the same about the folks affiliated with the left-wing North Carolina group, TogetherNC. Henderson described them correctly as “Democratic Party donors, left-leaning advocacy groups, unions, government contractors, and nonprofits that receive taxpayer funding.”
