Governments mandate that health insurance plans cover certain procedures, treatments, or medications in order to guarantee that people have access to the health care they need, right?
Regardless of the intentions, those mandates generate a number of harmful negative consequences. University of Louisville economist Stephan Gohmann made that argument during a presentation Thursday for Campbell’s Politics, Law, and Economics Lecture Series.
