This update comes to you with compliments to Patty Champion for changing my contact lens prescription so I no longer need glasses. It is helping me move faster.

I just got back from the Grove Park Inn where most Republicans are celebrating. I chatted with Steve Duncan, 11th District Chair. He said his greatest concern was that people were so willing to abdicate that for which our forefathers were willing to sacrifice their own lives. Kids today have forgotten that the nation was established to provide protection from the state, not by the state.

I also spoke with Bill Lack. He was trolling the polls for the Republicans. He told about a sign defaced by the Action Club. I had heard about it. The same thing happened last year. It gets Republicans so excited and brings so much press, I’m not sure which party is responsible. Anyway, Lack said the polls were slow everywhere in the county. According to Lack (and I said he would be responsible for any erroneous information he passed along), a couple incidences of people being turned away for attempting to vote twice occurred. There was something else about the chief judge throwing the Republican judge out of the precincts. Strange things happened, attorneys are investigating, but all in all the day was uneventful.

The polls close at 7:30. I haven’t heard any predictions. The hottest races concern the opponents suing each other. Joe Sam Queen is supposed to have dunked himself when he supported metering wells.

Off to more venues!
