Among the howlers from President Obama’s Tuesday infomercial, er, town hall, was his claim that AARP, the massive lobbying organization for seniors (which also provides sweet discounts for members), “would not be endorsing a bill if it was undermining Medicare.”
Not so fast. From The Associated Press:
Tom Nelson, AARP’s chief operating officer, said, “Indications that
we have endorsed any of the major health care reform bills currently
under consideration in Congress are inaccurate.”
Since some of the first signs of trouble at town hall meetings were reported at the AARP gathering in Dallas recorded below, even the reliably liberal seniors group doesn’t want to jump aboard the Obamacare train just yet.
