The state Senate’s budget writers will await the results of this week’s House debates before taking formal action on their own budget plan.
When the Senate Appropriations Committee meets, it could consider S.B. 2064, the “Open Government Act,” sponsored by Sen. David Hoyle, D-Gaston. This act would mandate that government agencies pay the legal bills when they lose a public records lawsuit.
