Reading the newspapers today, one learns another candidate will compete in the 11th Congressional District race. In the interest of McCain-Feingold, I will provide neither names nor hyperlinks. However, coverage in one local newspaper says he is duly qualified because he creates jobs. His web site says it is not the role of government to create jobs, but to remove impediments to job creation. Yet, allegedly, said candidate has procured over $400,000,000 in grants and loans for local businesses and his “campaign team” is credited with creating over 6000 jobs. If that didn’t confuse you, you can at least remember one daily lesson from the headlines:
Employment is up. Employment is down.
