Kevin Miller spoke with the two candidates for state superintendent
on WPTF this morning. June Atkinson doubted whether Bill Fletcher could
win the election based on his challenge to provisional votes cast in
the wrong precinct.

Atkinson: I would have had to win 90% of the vote [in the provisional ballots].

Miller: Well, that’s what they say John Kerry did in Ohio, which is why they weren’t willing to call that.

Atkinson: That was one state, we’re talking about a statewide election.

Doesn’t do a lot to inspire confidence in the future of state schools, but sure makes the commute seem shorter.
