I’m borrowing from Lord Tennyson’s Charge of the Light Brigade to make a point about Obamacare. As Cato Institute’s Ilya Shapiro observes here, the legislation seeks to mandate that individuals purchase an approved product (health insurance policies) and now it also wants to mandate that insurers state that any rebate checks they write come with hosannahs to the “Affordable Care Act.” This is a flagrant attack on the First Amendment since nothing gives the federal government power to demand speech from anyone, and especially galling since Commissar Sebelius threatened insurers with reprisals if they should speak ill of Obamacare.
The regime is loaded with people in love with power and unconcerned about the Constitution’s limits on it.
