The Wake County Board of Education voted 7-1 (Margiotta) to covert 19 elementary schools to a mandatory year round calendar.
Parents applauded Margiotta’s plea to his colleagues to reconsider the plan, as well as his warning that the bond would fail because of their decision. The other members of the school board looked miffed.
I am under the impression that the bond opposition group will present a plan that would both deal with enrollment growth and increase parents’ ability to choose between a year round and traditional school. But that is just an impression.
