To tell the truth, I was just speculating yesterday when I said that Preservation Greensboro was dictating public policy regarding the former Colonial Ice Co. property. But Kevin Jones definitely thinks that’s the case after the city rejected his plan for a $3.5 million condo project on the site.
City director of engineering and inspections Butch Simmons denied that “Preservation Greensboro’s influence buried Jones’ project. He says his marching orders came from the City Council, which wanted the ice plant saved.”
OK, but who was giving the City Council its marching orders?
