Ed Cone doesn’t say how he knows this, but it looks like Merchandise Mart Properties, a huge property owner in High Point’s market district, is going under.
That’s pretty big, and it will be interesting to see how long it takes the mainstream media to catch up. Stay tuned.
Update: Ed did send out a thanx to his “special bond market correspondent.” Also note Ivan Cutler’s comment stating ” the balkanization of High Point showrooms, a vicious internecine warfare of insular owners over the years, help contribute to weakening and possibily killing a mercantile golden goose.”
