The N&R reports that UNC vice president for academic affairs Harold Martin will replace Stanley Battle as N.C. A&T chancellor.

My gut reaction is troubled institutions often resort to radical shifts in strategy in order to right the course. Bringing in an outsider like Battle certainly didn’t work out, so now the strategy is to bring in an ultimate insider like Martin, who has his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from A&T and served as chancellor at Winston-Salem State from 2000-2006. So he knows not only A&T but the UNC system very well.

Should be interesting.
