I encourage you to read Rick Martinez’s new column, “School change at a snail’s pace.”
Passage to take to the bank:
I’ve got to hand it to Big Education. Those children-focused, saccharin-laced platitudes that roll off the tongues of school administrators are working. Not only do educators resist meaningful reform, they demand more money for any suggestion that even hints at requiring improvement. And they usually get it. Each year taxpayers reward mediocre performance in response to Big Education’s predictable laments.
Good stuff.
