President Obama and Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton are the most vocal members of the political class that shouts for new gun control measures after a highly publicized mass shooting.
But the measures they propose would do little to nothing to prevent similar incidents in the future. That was one of the key messages Gregory Wallace, associate professor of law at Campbell University Law School, delivered during a speech to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society.
Wallace also offered suggestions of alternatives that would help address fears about terrorists, criminals, and the “mentally deranged” getting access to guns.
