As of this writing, Bush leads in Ohio 2,702,479 to 2,574,487, with 97% of the precincts reporting. That’s 127,992 votes. Let’s call it an even 128,000 for sake of argument. Now, on CBS, Ohio election officials are estimating that there are 140,000 provisional ballots out there. Dan Rather is clinging to the hope of those ballots as if they all bore the stamp of a Kinko’s fax. Kerry … may still … pull it out.

Really? Now, provided this margin stays the same (it won’t, of course, but for sake of argument), and provided none of those provisional ballots are thrown out, those 140,000 ballots would have to break 134,000 to 6,000 for Kerry for him to win. And that’s … just not … probable.
