Writing at TCS Daily, our friend Max Borders has an excellent article on the main problems with our current health care system and how to remedy them.

He’s absolutely right in his ending argument that the Democrats in Congress understand the problems, all of which stem from federal interference with the order and efficiency of voluntary arrangements in the free market. Instead of taking a few steps back out of the morass of government meddling, they choose to go marching ahead, adding additional layers of regulation. I suppose that the political calculation goes like this: Lots of gullible voters will fall for the “boldness” of some universal program; after they’ve won and the thing is in place, the problems it causes can always be blamed on something or someone else.
