Well, it was not enough that the pro-tax camp had the county DSS on board supporting the tax. Mayor Pat McCrory had to turn a Discovery Place forum on climate change into a Save The Tax event.
Yesterday’s event was supposed to expose local high school kids to different views on climate change. McCrory was among the panelists. He had to duck out early — no doubt an emergency ribbon cutting somewhere — but before the Mayor left he asked how many of the kids were 18. Some hands shot up.
The mayor then told them to vote against repeal of the half-cent transit tax. And then left.
This left onlookers stunned as McCrory had just minutes before lamented how political the climate change issue had become. Classic Pat McCrory, Charlotte’s best ever politician.
