That is the gist of the headline on the account of Pat McCrory’s visit to Hickory. Charlotte mayor says he wants to make politics in Raleigh more accessible and less corrupt. Let’s not set too high a bar, I guess.

McCrory, of course, is not responsible for that confusing headline, and if he’s not laughing along with us, he should be. At any rate, I continue to believe that Republican candidates could be hitting the recent corruption troubles in Raleigh much, much harder than they current are.

This is why the Rev. Wright ad just does not move the ball forward in terms of forcing Democratic powerbrokers to defend their dealings and relationships that involve much fewer degrees of separation than Obama-Wright.
