Jon Meacham?s latest Newsweek editor?s note begins with sentences that suggest he has at least some inkling of a primary motivating force for conservatives:
I am generally skeptical about the likelihood of rapid wholesale political or cultural change. Perhaps my reservations that the world can suddenly reform and redeem itself comes [sic] from a habit of seeing things historically, a perspective that suggests life improves only after much work and strife.
It’s odd to read such a clear anti-utopian statement from the same man who buys into some of the silliest ?progressive? ideas put forward in the last 80 years, including standard campaign rhetoric disguised as strong words coming ?from the core.?
