The city wins a discrimination lawsuit filed by a former parks and rec employee.

Richard Wagner’s complaint is one of many lawsuits in which the city is embroiled at a cost $1 million. In this case, Wagner was working for parks and rec when he was passed over for a promotion.

At issue is the city’s “reclassification policy,” which means –which allows the city to bypass the competitive application process. Wagner suddenly found himself working for his co-worker without getting a shot at the job. And he didn’t like that much.

The Rhino reported back in February the city settled a discrimination lawsuit with another parks and rec employees for $25,000.
