Just wow! Who knew? Rep. Robin Hayes (R) will probably barely hang on to his seat, but there can be no doubt that he is not welcome in Mecklenburg County. Larry Kissel spanked him 2-to-1, 67% to 33% in the sliver of the 8th District in the county.
I blame Hayes’ support for light rail down Independence Blvd., which allied him with Parks Helms and Nancy Carter among others, and against common sense.
Update: “Probably barely” is too strong. The final tallies show this thing headed for a recount.
