The News & Observer promoted in the past week two of John Locke Foundation President John Hood‘s columns. The “Under the Dome” blog cited Hood’s analysis of left-of-center partisans who would rather quarrel than argue. The N&O‘s “Wake Ed” blog noted Hood’s defense of a bill that would change the way Wake County voters select local school board members.

The Greensboro News & Record promoted Hood’s recent column offering an early assessment of North Carolina’s 2014 U.S. Senate race. The Smithfield Herald and Garner-Cleveland Record published letters alluding to Hood’s column describing new Gov. Pat McCrory as “Mr. Fix-It.”

A Tribune Papers column from “Wild West” blogger Leslee Kulba cited Hood’s reporting on changing American family patterns. N.C. Senate Republicans promoted in their daily press emails Hood’s assessment of the Senate tax reform plan and his column on significant events in North Carolina history marking major anniversaries in 2013.

JLF Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray joins Hood this weekend on N.C. Spin to discuss tax reform, the 2013 legislative session, the N.C. Board of Elections, and consumer loans. Gray appears this weekend on WRAL’s “On The Record” program, and she also offers analysis of the week’s top political news this evening on News 14 Carolina’s statewide “Capital Tonight” program.

Gray testified this week before the N.C. House Commerce Committee on a bill to create a Taxpayer Bill of Rights for North Carolina. She continues her semiweekly politics and public policy updates for WTSB Radio listeners.
