Since Meeker saw the light on Kane’s North Hills TIF project why didn’t he see the light on the Fayetteville Street project, convention center and hotel subsidy?

It seems to me that, quoting Meeker, “it does not make sense for the city to intervene in the market to cause development to occur that the market would otherwise not support” also applies to these projects. But of course, these projects provide ribbon cutting photo ops that contribute to reelection votes.

Maybe Paul Coble’s explanation that Meeker talks out of both sides of his mouth explains it.
