Morning Consult regularly surveys registered voters on a variety of topics, including the extent to which those voters approve of elected office holders. Recent results for state governors are striking. All of the 10 most popular governors are Republicans.
Roy Cooper made a barely respectable showing. His 49% approval rating put him in 25th place. Nevertheless, he did much better than North Carolina’s senators. With an approval rating of 38%, Richard Burr was among the 10 least popular senators, and Thom Tillis came in dead last with an approval rating of only 33%.
