Hendersonville City Council decided they would hold a bond referendum instead of unilaterally deciding to raise taxes 3% to pay for developing parkland on property dedicated to the city by Kimberly-Clark. Original plans included constructing an amphitheatre, but council members decided not to do that, not because it was expensive and the people were still hurting for jobs, but because something was amiss with the feng shui that located it next to a swamp. In addition, Councilman Ron Stephens pulled the time card, the one that blames the day and the hour on the assumption that everybody knows time is money.
