Now I’m scared, because if urban sprawl can happen here, it can happen anywhere:

Lock your barns and get your guns — North Dakota’s precious farmlands are being threatened by urban sprawl. Or so some urban planners would have Dakota residents believe.

I can’t say I’ve been everywhere, but By God I’ve been to North Dakota. My dad grew up there, and we’d drive out to the old homeplace. And drive. And drive. It’s the only place I’ve been where the drive got longer each time you went. Nothing around for miles.

Update They’ve discovered oil in North Dakota, which will only lead to the (gasp) rape of the precious farmland.
