Three high-profile G’boro companies —-Lorillard, Lincoln Financial and VF pledge a total of $1 million toward the Downtown Greenway.
Hey, it’s their money, although I wouldn’t necessarily assume the suits vetted the research before they wrote the check.
No doubt they listened to the assurance of Mayor Robbie Perkins, who told them that a greenway was essential to keep future employees now attending one of the city’s universities here. First things first— seems to me if the companies are offering high-paying jobs, they’re staying, greenway or no greenway.
