In a few unrelated topics, JLF staffers have righted the misinformed opinions of a few.  In the Foundation for Economic Education‘s online News and Commentary section, the Pope Center’s George Leef tackles the misrepresentation of New Zealand’s deregulation of higher education as presented by Gordon Davies in the Chronicle of Higher Education
Davies fails to note that although New Zealand did allow more
competition between postsecondary educational institutions, what they
were competing for was state funding.  As George noted, this isn’t
a form of deregulation.  George,  in iconoclastic fashion,
reviews the book, Wilson’s War in Freedom Daily,
agreeing with the author’s point that Wilson did more for pulling us
into an unnecessary war than many would have thought.  And
finally, CJ‘s Paul Chesser drives home the sheer selfishness of the White House press corps, illuminating their drive to sensationalize any story, even the Vice President’s slow media response to the hunting accident in Texas.
