Seeing the crawl last night relating that the 1.7-percent chance Bulls won the NBA draft lotto made me chuckle. Michael Jordan can’t catch a break, I thought.

Then I hear the guys on WFNZ this AM ripping MJ for not even attending the lotto event. I had no idea. The Pacers sent Larry Bird, the Heat sent Dwayne Wade, the Bobcats sent…Rod Higgins, MJ’s personal stunt-double for all public appearances. Unreal. Callers to the radio show were already wondering if the Bobcats would’ve had to pay MJ to attend. Dumb move, Bobcats.

You get a chance to remind the casual NBA fan that Jordan is associated with the Bobcats, maybe make a little celebrity news with him and Bird chatting. Cheap, yeah but this franchise needs all the positive PR it can get. It was there for the taking last night — and MJ was no where to be found.

Bonus Observation: Where was Nelly? The Nets had their Jr. partner rap star Jay-Z in the house. Bobcat Johnson is not getting his money’s worth out of that guy either.
