Michael Jordan could sell the Bobcats in three or four years if the team does not improve/stop losing money. So says the Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News. The Bobcats claim that Jordan is committed to the team and Charlotte. Of course that’s exactly what you would expect him to say, regardless of his true feelings.
As a practical matter, I think you’ve got to assume that if three or four years from now the Bobcats are still bad and losing money, then they will be up for sale and/or relocation. Even with the new labor deal, there are just limits as to how far losing money can go on, especially in a small (by NBA standards) market.
