ddYesterday an Illinois court sided with Charlotte Bobcats exec Michael Jordan in a legal dispute with a woman who had a relationship with Jordan early in his NBA career.

Karla Knafel claimed that Jordan owed her $5 million as a result of an agreement the two entered into after Knafel found out she was pregnant in 1991. If Knafel did not file a paternity suit, Jordan would pay her for her silence — or so Knafel has claimed in a court fight dating to 2003.

As it turned out, Jordan was not the father of the child in question, a fact the state Appellate Court said Knafel reasonably should have known before telling Jordan he was the father. Knafel may ask the Illinois Supreme Court to review the decision.
