I visited an art museum in Tampa last summer to see an exhibition of M.C. Escher prints. Whether you like Escher’s stuff or not, you have to admit, the man could draw. As my wife and I wandered the museum from the traditional area to the modern art area we noticed that the ability to draw, to represent something in the real world with any kind of accuracy, disappeared. Suddenly, anything became art.

This post by Jeff Goldstein reminded me of that experience.
