It is August. Daamn. Christmas decorations in the stores any minute, I can feel it. In other news:

  • Jim DeMint makes the connection between Cash for Clunkers and government run health care. Or make that, Waiting List for By-Pass Surgery. Why is this hard for folks?
  • Speaking of cognitive disabilities, the Uptown paper’s “news analysis” of the health care debate. Did you see that mess on Sunday? I’m not even going to link to it, so egregious were the errors of fact. Someone must’ve felt much Dilworth guilt over the crater the Debater-in-Chief left in Raleigh last week.
  • Steve Smith is 30. That is all. Not like there is any pressure to get back to the playoffs this year or anything. And, no I didn’t bother with buying any Panther tix over the weekend, hint hint.
  • Speaking of panthers, MonsterQuest comes to Angier?
  • Andrew Sullivan was a birther. For a day. Then bailed when the heat got too hot. Just go get the original birth certificate already.
  • Unemployment..unemployment, oh yeah, did we mention that it will not improve for a year? So says our fearless money-man Tim Geithner. That’s double-digit unemployment in the Charlotte area perhaps until 2011.

And on that happy note, we are done.
