Back from a beautiful, busy weekend, part of which was spent here. Awesome trails.
*Dook, again;
*Guilford County school board member Ed Price pitches the High Point City Council on skate park; Price and his group did not ask for public funds, but no private funds “had been identified.” Here’s a clue — they think right next to the proposed amphitheater would be “an ideal spot”;
*Yet another Winston-Salem Journal PR piece editorial on Piedmont Triad Research Park. Geez, they’ve been laying it on thick lately;
*Davidson County Board of Commissioners adopts resolution supporting merger of the Piedmont Triad Council of Governments with the Northwest Council of Governments, bringing the total number of local governments supporting the merger to 19;
*PART’s route restructuring will eliminate stops in Davidson County, which carried “between two and three riders on average”;
*Commander Hood says if you love public broadcasting, then set it free;
*Don’t see it online, but the N&R writes up a General Assembly bill that would force municipal broad band systems to adhere to the same laws that commercial systems do. Greensboro City Council member Zack Matheny says “(r)estricting cities from providing municipal broadband could limit our ability to entice companies like Google or others.” What am I missing here —G’boro has no municipal broadband, and Matheny says there no plans for such, yet not having the option would restrict the ability to ‘entice’ companies.
