The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction released Month 1 Average Daily Membership (ADM) numbers today.
The Month 1 numbers can be somewhat misleading because student transfers often occur during the initial month of school. The Month 2 figures tend to be a more accurate representation of enrollment.
Here is how they stack up compared to last year:
2021-22 School Year
District: 1,347,814 (+10,548)
Charter: 130,485 (+5,266)
Other: 1,420 (+2)
2020-21 School Year
